Key takeaways

  • With the new IT-Label Self-Scan you see in about three minutes which IT-Label your building is likely to achieve. Free and without an account.
  • You get an indication of the level, your building knowledge, the three biggest points for attention and advice on the next step.
  • "I don't know" is an answer too. Those answers show exactly what you don't yet have a clear picture of.
  • The Self-Scan gives an indication, not an official label. The official level is determined on site by a Certified Partner.

Start the Self-Scan and see right away where your building stands.

What a building can do digitally is not visible

From the outside you see a lot of a building: the facade, the location, the parking spaces. What the building can do digitally is not visible. The cables run through the shafts, the technical room is behind a door and nobody sees the connection from outside. Yet that digital foundation determines whether an organisation can work well there.

That is why there is now the IT-Label Self-Scan. In a few minutes you get a first picture of the digital quality of your building, or of the building you want to rent or buy.

How the Self-Scan works

First you choose who you are: owner, operator, tenant, agent, investor or building manager. Then come ten short questions, one per screen. They cover, among other things:

  • the internet connection and a second connection as a backup;
  • the cabling, the Wi-Fi and mobile coverage;
  • the technical room, and who can access it;
  • separate networks for tenants, guests and building systems;
  • smart building systems and room to expand later.

For every question you can also choose "I don't know". You do not need to create an account or leave any details.

What you get

  • An indication of the level. From IT5 SHELL to IT1+ PREMIUM, on the familiar IT-Label scale.
  • Your building knowledge. How many of the ten parts do you actually know? For example: "you know 7 of the 10 parts".
  • The three biggest points for attention. Where are the biggest gains, and why does that matter?
  • Advice on the next step. Matched to your answers and your role.

Want to know more? Then you receive the full report by email: all ten parts with an explanation, what a higher level requires and a checklist with questions for your situation.

"I don't know" is an answer too

Many people do not know who can access the technical room, whether there is a second connection, or how old the cabling is. That is nothing to be ashamed of. But it is a risk. If you do not know what is in place, you only notice problems when it is too late: during an outage, with a new tenant or when the building is sold.

That is why the Self-Scan also shows your building knowledge. It shows exactly which parts you don't yet have a clear picture of. Often that is the most important outcome of the scan. It is also a good start for a conversation with your landlord, your building manager or a Certified Partner.

What the Self-Scan is not

The Self-Scan is not an official IT-Label. It is an indication based on your own answers. The official level is determined by a Certified Partner, with an on-site assessment. That keeps the IT-Label independent and reliable. On the page about the label categories you can read what each level means.

What does the Self-Scan give you?

Test your knowledge too

On the same page there is a short knowledge quiz with five statements. For example: "A building with IT5 SHELL is a bad building." True or false? After each statement you see the answer, with a short explanation. That way you get to know the IT-Label better in a few minutes.

After the Self-Scan

The result gives advice on the next step. That may be a pre-inspection, to quickly know where you really stand. Or the Security Audit, if security needs attention. For investors there is Digital Due Diligence. And if your building is in good shape, you make it official with an IT-Label.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Self-Scan really free?

Yes. You see the result on screen straight away, without an account and without leaving any details. Only for the full report by email do we ask for your name and email address.

How long does the Self-Scan take?

About three minutes. There are ten short questions, plus the question of who you are.

Do I get an official IT-Label with the Self-Scan?

No. The Self-Scan gives an indication based on your answers. You only get an official IT-Label after an on-site assessment by a Certified Partner.

What happens to my details?

Without a report we store no details, only anonymous counts. If you request the report, we use your details to send it and to contact you about the result. We do not share them with others.

I rent a building. Is it useful for me too?

Yes. Ideally do the scan before you sign. The result and the checklist in the report help you ask the landlord the right questions.
