The partners who determine the IT-Label
A standard is only worth something if everyone measures the same way. That's why certified partners carry out audits according to one methodology.
Why independence is the foundation
A label the landlord issues themselves is a claim. A label an independent party determines using a fixed method is a measure. That difference is the entire reason the IT-Label exists.
That's why partners carry out audits according to the IT-Label methodology, not according to their own judgement. Only that way does IT2 PLUG & PLAY mean the same in Rotterdam as it does in Groningen.
What does a partner do?
From scope definition to measurement and reporting: this is what happens during an audit.

More information →What a partner doesn't do
A partner assesses, but doesn't sell an outcome. The audit establishes what's there and what it performs; the level follows from that. A building can't 'negotiate' its classification, and a partner has no interest in a higher or lower outcome.
It also holds that the IT-Label does not reject buildings. A partner who determines IT5 SHELL hasn't rejected anything: they've established that the property is delivered as shell space, which for the right tenant may be exactly the intention.

What does a partner do?
A certified partner carries out the audit: from scope definition and inspection to measuring actual performance and determining the level.
How does the IT-Label work?
An independent audit assesses both the physical infrastructure and the actual performance. The certificate is then valid for two years.
