Shopping centres: one infrastructure, many users

POS systems, visitor WiFi, camera security and building management all run over the same infrastructure, with very different demands.

Retail is more digital than it looks

A shop is a network node these days. Payments run online, stock is tracked live, and more and more retailers measure footfall. If the connection drops, transactions can literally stop.

At the same time, visitors expect free WiFi that just works. Those are two very different interests on one infrastructure: one must never go down, the other must handle large numbers at once.

What the label means for your tenants

For a retailer, the digital infrastructure of your centre isn't a detail but a requirement. The IT-Label clarifies in advance which facilities the centre offers; what the tenant arranges within their own unit is recorded in the IT Demarcation List: see responsibilities.

That especially pays off with tenant turnover. A new tenant knows immediately where they stand, instead of having to figure it out unit by unit.
